Design Summary:
The City of Longmont, Colorado enlisted Ceres to design a year-round greenhouse as part of their native plant restoration initiative, spearheaded by the City’s public works office. Their 18’x24’ BackYard Kit shelters plant starts sourced from nearby Fort Collins, for replanting in neighboring public land and parks. Integral to the city’s broader sustainability agenda, the greenhouse relies solely on geothermal energy for heating and cooling, aligning perfectly with said agenda. To assess the GAHT® (ground to air heat transfer) system’s efficacy, the growers are also cultivating an array of fruits and veggies within the greenhouse. This project underscores our dedication to innovative, eco-friendly solutions and community-driven sustainability initiatives, and we eagerly anticipate the restoration achievements it will yield.
