Ceres expert Josh Holleb conducts an on-site comparison of light transmission in a commercial greenhouse in Idaho. Using a light spectrometer, Josh measures inside and outside PPFD to compare traditional polycarbonate structures with newly built Ceres greenhouses featuring proprietary ETFE glazing and an offset gable design.
While standard greenhouses typically achieve around 50% light transmission, high-performance glazings can achieve 70% or more. ETFE glazing is able to ensure higher usable light and support more consistent, year-round plant growth.
