Inside the Greenhouse: Getting More From the Greenhouse You Already Have
Webinar recap with Josh Holleb and Marc Plinke
This Inside the Greenhouse session covered how to maximize performance in traditional greenhouse structures. Josh and Marc showed how energy modeling establishes baselines for temperature, humidity, and light, and explained how controllers support operational efficiency. They also showed how appropriately sized heaters and cooling systems, such as high-pressure fogging, improve growing conditions.
On glazing, they noted that polycarbonate and polyfilm degrade over time, while ETFE offers high light transmission and long-term durability. They then presented new IR-blocking films and passive radiative cooling films, which reduce leaf and soil temperatures without blocking PAR light. Real-world data and images showed that these films improved plant growth and reduced heat stress.
The session closed with a brief discussion of installation methods and how these technologies could be integrated into future greenhouse designs.
Ceres offers standalone and gutter-connected greenhouses in addition to its patented systems, along with consulting services for owners and buyers working with any structure type.
